Vulcan Fire Safe Soffit Vents

Vulcan Soffit Vents
Built To Protect
Soffit vents are the vents on the underside of the roof's eaves (soffits). Soffit vents can also be placed under arches, balconies or decking, beams, cornices, or vaults on top of a home. These vents allow fresh air to circulate through the attic space, providing proper ventilation so that condensation doesn't lead to mold and mildew. For more information, Download the Vulcan Catalog.
Soffit vents draw up cooler air from the base of the roof while hot and humid air is exhausted through roof vents at the top of the attic.
Vulcan Vents soffit vents use a baffle-free design to encourage air to circulate freely under the roof covering. Vulcan Vents do not use airflow-interrupting baffles, resulting in more venting per square inch for the net free area.

Fire safety starts with Vulcan Vents.
Ember and fire-resistant vents are required under California's Chapter 7A building codes for homes located in wildfire-prone areas otherwise known as the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). As such, Vulcan Vents are recommended for homes by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). See the Cal Fire listing here. Our corrosion-resistant vents were created with homes that face wildfire threat in mind.
An inner noncombustible wire mesh screen protects vent openings from floating ember entry while an intumescent coating expands in the presence of intense heat, further blocking entry of embers and flames. Vulcan soffit vents are available for stucco, wood construction, foam and stucco, fiber cement, or retrofit applications.
